Out of the blue I had such a surprising day: Watching Matt Preston in the IKEA kitchen in Sydney!

I was racing through IKEA when an announcement was made that Matt Preston was in the IKEA kitchen, NOW! And my timing was perfect: I sat in the first row, was tremendously entertained and was fed, a very flexitarian and yummy snack :) I ended up taking heaps of notes, partially cooking tips for vegans, but I was also inspired by Matt's ideas as to how to stop using plastic bags and how to cook more thoughtfully in terms of portions, so we don't end up wasting so much food! Apparently most of us waste 1/3 of our food every week, due to being un-eaten left overs etc. This waste would feed one person for an entire year, if it was not wasted. How crazy is that?

There was a brilliant speech by a company called https://www.foodbanknsw.org.au/ which led me to find out more about https://www.ozharvest.org/ and https://www.secondbite.org/

This afternoon sparked so many ideas in my head and inspires me to keep on learning more about foot-print reduction!

Thank you Matt and IKEA for a very entertaining and inspiring afternoon!
