Open a Jackfruit

Should you plan to try cutting this fruit by yourself, watch your fingers during the cutting and while touching the outside of the fruit. It is quite spiky.

At Ben Thanh Market in Saigon, you can buy it already cut, which will save your fingers.

When I was told how to do it I did not imagine how tough the skin is. It sounded much easier than it is,

to simply slice 4 sides and pull the core out with all pieces of fruit intact. 

But it is worth the effort: it is an incredibly delicious fruit and just tastes of sweet summer!
